Genealogical tree of the Earl 'Scibor-Marchocki family

The history of Poland begins at the start of the tenth century, that is from the time of the acceptance of the Christianity (the Roman Catholic religion).  The first historical king of Poland was Michael the first, of the Piasta dynasty.  He was crowned as a king by the German Caesar.  (In those times of the Middle Ages, a king was crowned by a Caesar, while a Caesar by the Pope.)  Before the time of Michael the first, legends tell us that there were other kings.  Among others, king Popiel, who was a bad man.  And for punishment, one day many mice emerged from the Gopel lake.  They devoured the king Popiel and his whole retinue.  There also was king Lech, who discovered a nest of white eagles.  On the place of this nest, he founded the city of Gniezno.  (To this day, it survives.)  He also proclaimed that a white eagle, with a king's crown on its head, on a red background, would become the coat-of-arms of Poland.  But these are only legends; because no written historical documents have survived from these times.  Michael the first, after ascending the throne of Poland, decided to marry.  As his bride, he decided to take Dabrowka, the princess of Hungary.  And to this end, he dispatched a troop of knights to Hungary, that they would escort her to Poland.  History tells us that among these knights was a knight 'Scibor.  Since history does not mention any other of the knights by name, one has to presume that the knight 'Scibor was in charge of this troop.  (In a thorough history of Poland, in two volumes, which resides in the library of the Veterans of the Polish Army from the United States of America [in Hamtramck [[a suburb of Detroit]], Michigan], the author-historian [whose name I do not recollect] tells that in this troop of knights, dispatched by the king Michael the first, there was, amongst others, a knight Earl Marchocki.  On what grounds this historian failed to employ the name 'Scibor; but only Marchocki, or on what grounds he ascribes the title earl, of course I do not know.)
The dynasty of Piastas reigned to the middle of the fourteenth century.  The last and most famous of the kings of this dynasty was Kasimir the Great, named the king of the commoners; because, he was especially concerned with the well-being of the common people.  Also, he for the first time admitted the Jewish refugees into Poland, who at that time were being persecuted by the Germans.  From that time began the immigration of Jew into Poland.  Jews from all of the counties of western Europe began to concentrate in Poland.  Even from as far away as Spain, where the Inquisition was persecuting the Jews mercilessly.  [At present, all of the small cities in Poland mostly are populated by Jews.]

=====================================================================

While my Father does not so state here; but there is reason to believe that the Knight Stybor came from Hungary, as in charge of the entourage of the Princess Dabrowka of Hungary.  Also, my Father employs the modern Polish spelling 'Scibor.  The original Hungarian spelling was Stybor.  The historian has employed the second of the two words of the modern compound last-name Marchocki.  The Marchocki dates from circa 1400; thus it is not historically correct to employ it for an event which happened in 987.  Finally, I remind the reader that the single-brackets were employed by my Father.  I employ double-brackets to interject my own comments.  I have translated "orszak" as "troop"; but, "contingent" might be better.  There probably is a specific military term that should be employed.
